Query Results Grid

Crash Query Results (and when available, Intersection Search Results), are displayed in a robust, selectable and filterable grid display under the map panel. The results are broken down graphically to help visually separate the data model between Crashes, Vehicles, Persons, etc.

Query Results Grid

Query Results are displayed in a grid format, filled by the results of a Basic Query or Advanced Query, or loaded Case List. There are more fields that can potentially be included than can be included here. Each column is filterable and sortable. Each record in the query results grid is dynamically synced with the interactive map display (see Zoom in below).

Basic Column Operations

Reordering - The column headers can be used to reorder the columns by holding the mouse pressed within a column header and dragging the column left or right, releasing at the desired position

Resizing - Columns can be resized wider or narrower by holding the mouse pressed on the vertical splitter between columns, sliding left or right, and releasing

Filtering - At the top of each column (under the column name) is a filtering row where filter criteria can be added. Text fields have a white textbox, fields with a domain governing the entries in the field appear gray, but have selectable options when clicked.

Sorting - Each column name can be clicked to establish ascending or descending sorting. The first time clicked will sort the column in ascending order. Clicking again will change to descending. The current sorting direction will be indicated by a upward or downward facing arrow next to the column name.

Row Tools

In addition to a selection check box (to select individual records for subsequent processing), each row in the grid has three tools available (icons from left to right):

Zoom To Crash - Zooms the map to the location of the crash

View Crash Report - Opens the primary crash report for the crash in a new browser tab (see Crash Report Viewer topic for further details)

View Diagram & Narrative - Opens the Crash Diagram and Narrative/Officer Notes for the crash in a popup dialog (click the Close button to close the dialog)

Advanced Column Grouping

Advanced Queries allow the user to leverage different "levels" of queries (Crash level, Vehicle Level and Person Level). The columns are then grouped, horizontally across the grid, conforming to the following levels of data (as shown below):

Crash Level Fields (with a sub-header in blue)

Vehicle Level Fields (with a sub-header in red)

Person Level Fields (with a sub-header in green)

Grid Tools

A series of grid tools are available across the bottom of the Query Results grid as shown below:

The buttons include the following options, listed in order from left to right in the image above:

Zoom To Selected -Zooms the map to the extent of all the selected crashes, and also selects them in the Map Window.

Clear Selected - Clears all selections (checkboxes).

Remove Selected - Removes the selected (checked) crashes from the query results grid

Clear Filters - Removes all applied filters from the grid, showing all rows returned by the Query.

Remove All Records - Clears the entire Query Results grid (only should be used in unique circumstances)

Add to DOT Queue - Adds the selected crashes to the DOT Queue for requested editing or relocation (which would be addressed by a DOT Administrator in ICE)

Save Preferences - Saves the current grid configuration as your preference (column order, etc.)

Export Records - Exports the rows in several different formats (case list, CSV, shapefile)

Generate Batch Report - Loads the selected cases into the Crash Report Viewer to generate an aggregated PDF containing each crash report (for the selected cases)

The above-mentioned options can be applied to one or more rows in the Query Results by selecting them in the checkbox column on the left of the grid. All rows within the grid can be selected at once using the check box at the top of the check box column

Advanced Column and Filter Tools

The far right of the query results grid contains two controls that provide provide advanced column and filter functionality:

Clicking the Columns tab displays a dialog (shown below) which provides the user with advanced functions allowing the user to toggle column visibility, order, group rows by column values, aggregate values, as well as to change the grid to Pivot mode

Clicking the Filters tab, displays a dialog (shown below) providing the user with advanced filtering functions
