Generating Project Support Documentation
The various components of an investigation can be exported as a single document package (PDF) which is referred to as "Project Support Documentation" (PSD). This is especially important when an investigation results in recommendations that will be implemented as a capital project that will go through the design and construction workflow. However, the PSD package can be exported from an investigation at anytime as a reporting mechanism.
Generating the PSD
The PSD package can be generated at any point during an investigation, regardless of the current step. To generate the PSD package, click the investigation menu icon (three lines) located in the far upper right of the investigation page. This will display a menu from which the user should select "Generate PSD". This will display the PSD dialog as shown below.

Each component of the investigation is listed in the left panel, while the details of the component is displayed on the right. To view and configure a component, click the OPEN icon (>>) which will switch the right panel to display the details for that component. To include a component in the PSD document, click the checkbox to the far left.
Each component has different selections and configuration options available for inclusion in the PSD package, and each is described in the sections below.
Investigation Details
This component is a simple overview of the investigation details as shown in the image above and is included by default. There is nothing to be configured for this component. It serves as a summary and cover page for the PSD and should be included in all PSD documents.
Summary Statistics
This component allows the user to select one or more variables that were available in the Summary Statistics during the Crash Analysis step (e.g., weather conditions, time of date, etc.), as well as an output format (Tabular, Bar Chart, Pie Chart). To add a variable for this component, the user selects the variable from the first picklist, then selects the format from the second picklist, and clicks the ADD button. The output selected is added to the right panel as shown in the image below.

The user can then repeat this for as many variables as desired (each will be added underneath the previous variable output in the right panel).
Crash Data
This component simply includes the crash data grid (TE 213) if selected as shown below.

Test of Proportions
This component is not directly added during this step due to the complexity of the function. Rather, a message is displayed indicating the following: to provide Test of Proportions results with the Project Support Documentation (PSD), the user can use the functionality available within the Crash Analysis>Statistical Tests step within the investigation to conduct one or more Test of Proportions, clicking the EXPORT button available within the step to export a CSV file for each test conducted. The CSV file(s) can then be provided along with this PSD document as the detailed Test of Proportions results.
Collision Diagram
One or more collision diagrams can be included in the PSD. To add a diagram, select the diagram name from the picklist and click the ADD button. The diagram is added to the right panel as shown below.

The user can then repeat this for as many diagrams as desired (each will be added underneath the previous diagram in the right panel). Each Diagram will have a red REMOVE button above it. To remove a diagram from the PSD, click the REMOVE button for the specific diagram.
Site Condition Images
One or more site condition images/photos can be included in the PSD. To add a photo, select the image name from the picklist and click the ADD button. The site image is added to the right panel as shown below.

The user can then repeat this for as many site images as desired (each will be added underneath the previous image in the right panel). Each image will have a red REMOVE button above it. To remove an image from the PSD, click the REMOVE button for the specific image.
Crash Patterns/Contributing Factors
This component is a simple list of the observed crash patterns and contributing factors recorded within the investigation as shown in the image below. There is nothing to be configured for this component. The user can simply check the box to include it if desired.

Countermeasures
This component is a simple list of the countermeasures added to the investigation with their respective BCA statistics as shown in the image below. There is nothing to be configured for this component. The user can simply check the box to include it if desired.

Alternatives
This component is a simple list of the alternatives added to the investigation with their respective BCA statistics as shown in the image below. There is nothing to be configured for this component. The user can simply check the box to include it if desired.

Recommendations
This component lists the recommendations added to the investigation as shown in the image below. The user can select one or more recommendations to be included in the PSD by checking the box(s) in the grid.
Generating the PSD File
When the user is done configuring and selecting components to be included in the PSD, they can click the GENERATE button in the lower right of the dialog to generate the PDF file of the PSD. The PDF file is generated which can then be reviewed and forwarded to other staff as needed.
