Reviewing Candidates
Once the editor clicks the Process button on the location form to relocate the crash, the location data is sent to the geocoding engine, and the Candidates tab is displayed within the left panel (as shown below) providing a grid listing the information for each potential candidate location. Additionally, the location of each candidate is displayed as a marker on the map display (the green marker showing the current location of the crash remains on the map for reference). Hovering the mouse over a row in the candidate grid will highlight location on map, and vice versa. The editor then reviews the candidates to determine if any of the candidates represents an acceptable location to relocate the crash.
•If a displayed candidate is acceptable to use as the crash location, click the Accept button for the desired candidate
•If no candidate is acceptable, but the coder knows where the crash should be located, use the User Placed Candidate tool to locate the crash manually (adds a candidate that can be accepted)
Notes:
•Hovering the mouse over a row in the candidate grid will highlight location on map, and vice versa
•Click the “Zoom” button will zoom in on the specific candidate, or “Zoom All” button will zoom to all candidates
•Click the “Accept” button to accept the specific candidate as the location of the crash
•Click the “Back to Location Form” button to return to the location form to adjust the fields and re-process the case
•Click the “Close” button to exit the crash relocation process WITHOUT accepting any candidates or relocating the crash
