What is ICE?

The Interactive Crash Editor (ICE) is an application which will be used by NYSDOT staff (e.g., Safety Administrators, Safety Evaluation Engineers, etc.) who will be responsible for relocating crashes that have already been geocoded, as well as for editing the attribute data for crashes.  In addition to being able to re-locate and edit crashes, ICE will also allow commercial crash analysts to edit and process commercial crashes and upload the crash data to SafetyNet.

There are essentially two “modes” based on user roles:

Crash Editor Role- Used by authorized editors to relocate crashes and edit crash data

“Commercial” Specific Roles - Used by authorized “commercial” specific user roles to edit and process crash data involving commercial vehicles

The sections/topics of the help system will be organized according to the roles above.
