Commercial Crash Processing
In addition to being able to re-locate and edit crashes, ICE also provides robust work flows and functionality for commercial crash analysts to edit and process commercial crashes and upload the crash data to SafetyNet.
•“Commercial” User - This represents users who will assist DOT SafetyNet users in researching and identifying potential additional cases involving a commercial vehicle (beyond those that are automatically flagged by the system)
•SafetyNet User - This refers to DOT Staff who are responsible for processing the commercial case/vehicle data and uploading the data into SafetyNet
This section of the documentation will focus on the work flows and functionality for the above commercial crash user roles to edit and process crashes that include commercial vehicles.
Queues for Commercial Crash Processing
The functionality for commercial crash processing is highly dependent on the use of queues for efficient and proper work flows. The queues align with the two roles above as described below:
Commercial Queue – This contains vehicles that have been found to be potential additional commercial crashes and added to the queue by a commercial user from the search results tab
SafetyNet Queue – This contains cases/vehicles that are confirmed commercial crashes (either those that were automatically flagged by the system, or those that were transferred from the commercial queue or search results). These records will be processed and uploaded to SafetyNet
The remainder of this section will be divided between the workflows and functionality of each of these two roles.
