Commercial User Workflows and Functions
The Commercial User role represents staff who assist the SafetyNet users in reviewing commercial crashes, identifying additional crashes that involve a commercial vehicle that may not have been automatically flagged by the system, editing the data associated with commercial vehicles to prepare the records for further processing and uploading to the SafetyNet system. This section will focus on the workflows and functionality that are available to users with the "commercial user" role/privileges.
The image below provides an overview of the default application layout for a user with the commercial user role.
Commercial User Workflow
At a high-level, the list below represents the typical workflow for a user in the "commercial user" role
1.Review the SafetyNet Queue (read-only for commercial user role) to identify vehicles that are already present (already flagged as crashes involving a commercial vehicle)
2.Research and identify potential additional commercial vehicle crashes
3.For commercial vehicle crashes not already in the SafetyNet queue, find desired cases/vehicle(s) by case number (adds vehicle to search results grid)
4.Review crash details of selected cases/vehicles (from search results grid)
5.Add vehicles from search results grid to Commercial Queue
6.Populate/Edit a copy of the commercial vehicle data for each vehicle added to the queue
The SafetyNet users will then have the ability to add vehicles from the Commercial queue to the SafetyNet queue for final processing and uploading
