Layer List
The 'Layer List' button provides access to a list of GIS layers that can be turned on or off in the map. Note that some layers are grouped together and that the group and the layer will both need to be visible to display the data on the map. Also note that some layers are associated with a scale threshold and will only be visible when zoomed in closely.
•Expand/Contract a group layer: Click the arrow button to the left of the group layer name. The arrow will now point to the bottom of the screen. Click the down arrow to contract the group layer. The arrow will now point to the group layer name.
•Make a Group Layer Visible: Click the visible (eye) button to the left of the group layer name. This allows for layers in the group to be visible on the map, but note that the individual layers still need to be turned on in the layer list. If a group layer is turned on, but the layer is not, it will not display on the map.
•Make an individual layer visible: Click the visible (eye) button to turn a layer on. Note that its group layer will also need to be turned "on" before the layer will be visible on the map.
•Determine if a layer has a scale threshold: Layers associated with a scale threshold will appear in gray text. Layers with scale thresholds that are turned on for visibility will not be visible until the map is at the appropriate zoom level.
To close the 'Layer List' tool, click the collapse button.
